VISIT TO BREMEN

Bremen is one of the best cities to visit in Germany. This city is a real fairy tales place, history and legends are making this place an unique scenario to visit. One day will be enough to visit the important places, the airport is so close to the city centre. In Bremen will be the best idea to enjoy the city and take the best of the German culture and tradition. There are many day trips from Bremen are possible, such as Hamburg (a major port city in northern Germany) and Lübeck (a northern German city distinguished by Brick Gothic architecture).
The city of Bremen is not too big, even the city centre is so tiny and cute with beautiful landscape and amazing river long walk. Here are some of the interesting places of Bremen.

1.      Bremen Hauptbahnhof: Bremen's first train station was opened in 1847 on the site of today's station, on the line to Hanover

2.      Mühle am Wall: The first windmill on this site was constructed in 1699.The building has been destroyed by fire and rebuilt a number of times, but the current construction was completed in 1898. This design rests on an eight sided base and the upper part is steered by a wind vane. The four sails of the windmill are shuttered. This type of design is known as a smock mill or Galerieholländer.

3.      Weser power station Bremen: The new Weser power plant Bremen at the Weserwehr in Bremen- Hastedt was put into operation in 2011 after three years of construction - about 24 years after the shutdown of its predecessor

4.      The Town Musicians of Bremen: (German: Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten) is a popular fairy tale retrieved and recorded by the Brothers Grimm. It was first published in Grimms' Fairy Tales in 1819. It tells the story of four aging domestic animals, who after a lifetime of hard work are neglected and mistreated by their former masters. Eventually, they decide to run away and become town musicians in the city of Bremen.

5.      Bremen Pig Herder Statue: This statue can't be avoided in Bremen. Right in the middle of the main street to the shopping area and market place in the Altstadt (Old town). Probably one has to queue/wait, due to it's popularity, to get a clear photo.

6.      Mercedes Benz Werk:

Tradition meets future: Mercedes-Benz cars have been rolling off the assembly lines at the Bremen plant for the last 40 years. Starting off with the S123 model, the plant has become a success story for northern Germany. With around 12,500 employees, the Mercedes-Benz Bremen plant is the largest private employer in the region. Ten models are currently being produced at the location: the C-Class sedan, wagon, coupé, and convertible; the E-Class coupé and convertible; the GLC SUV; the GLC coupé; and the SLC and SL roadsters. The Bremen plant is the lead plant steering the worldwide production of the C-Class and the GLC.

7.      Unser Planet – a sculpture outside the Deutsche bank. it was made by the German sculptor Bernd Altenstein.
